On 5/12/07 at 3pm 911 was called by grandmother- Nancy Hickle who resides at 3538 Humboldt N. The 8 year old girl (TIA) living at 3542 Humboldt N. poked Nancy's granddaughter (CAMAY) with a butcher knife. (no blood drawn). Police came and could get no response when knocking on door at 3542 H. Case # 07-151744. Since girl is under 10 said assault is misdemeanor. No parents at home at time of incident. (Girls had been having words prior, Nancy's girl, Camay was sitting in front of her house, when "Tia" came on property and poked her. Neighbors indicated 8 yo Tia usually babysits her 3 younger siblings. Drug use in house---problem house. Officer referred Nancy to Rich Jackson of Problem Properties. The landlord was called but doesn't know what to do to get tenants out. Boyfriend lives there also and was seen outside later smoking a blunt. At time of incident, adults away from house. Neighbors said their van (JLU701) was gone, so Tia had to be watching the other 3, one of which is about 5 months old. This is problem in itself expecting 8 yo to act as adult with siblings.
