The MPD provides this public safety information as a public service. These highlights are not reflective of all incidents handled or investigated by MPD during this time. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
ASSAULT
2957 COLFAX TUESDAY 1945 HOURS 08-154803
Uncooperative 20 year old black male w/6 CAPRS shot in the leg and didn’t want a report however told a friend he was going to get the guy who shot him. Two types of casings recovered.
503 IRVING TUESDAY 2115 HOURS 08-154922
16 year old black male shot by a 15 year old black male while playing basketball at Harrison Park. Victim and suspect had earlier verbal and when suspect returned he had family members and three others with him.
3906 4TH ST THURSDAY 0033 HOURS 08-156403
Suspicious vehicle stop led to the recovery of marijuana and an officer being bit by the female. Arrested were Voris Ross & Anita Hollis, BM & BF, 52 & 32 years old w/30 & 24 CAPRS. Charges included Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, False Information to Police, Driving after Cancellation, No Proof of Insurance and a Warrant.
721 EMERSON THURSDAY 0532 HOURS 08-156566
20 year old black female assaulted with an iron by a 19-26 year old black female possibly known to her brother’s friend.
39th & FREMONT THURSDAY 2148 HOURS 08-157463
Uncooperative 36 year old black male w/33 CAPRS shot in the leg and his friend hinted there might be more to the story.
2622 GIRARD THURSDAY 2247 HOURS 08-157430
SHOOT where officer’s were unable to locate anything then dispatch aired victim was as at North Memorial. A 50 year old black male said he and a friend were in his car and as she got out observed three black males with one having what she thought was a gun. She yelled and he tried to quickly drive away however was shot in the buttocks. Officers located a possible scene. Related event @ 26/Girard 08-157441
3447 PENN SATURDAY 0111 HOURS 08-158813
19 year old black male stabbed in the back by a black male while at a party.
26TH & JAMES SATURDAY 0330 HOURS 08-159037
Two 19 year old black females w/6 & 11 CAPRS assaulted by a 21 year old black male known to them after giving him a ride.
700 BROADWAY SATURDAY 1250 HOURS 08-159252
52 year old black male stabbed in the stomach by a male known to him during an argument relating to the purchasing of alcohol.
IRVING & PLYMOUTH SUNDAY 1735 HOURS 08-160793
Uncooperative 32 year old black male w/7 CAPRS visiting a friend when he was stabbed by a black male known from previous jail time. The vehicle victim was transported in was listed in a St. Paul shooting.
2824 EMERSON SUNDAY 2350 HOURS 08-161219
Two Asian males fired at an occupied house they were at previously attempting to purchase drugs and told to go away.
ROBBERY
2654 GIRARD THURSDAY 2245 HOURS 08-157441
30 year old black male w/8 CAPRS robbed of his ID & phone by three BM/20-23 who approached after he got off the bus. Suspects attempted to make conversation then demanded he lay on the ground while they rifled his pockets. Related 08-157430.
3451 GIRARD THURSDAY 2305 HOURS 08-157446
Two 16 year old females were walking from the bus stop when a black male grabbed them from behind, pushed them into a fence and pointed a gun in their faces while attempting to rob them. Victims can possibly ID the suspect.
1915 PENN FRIDAY 0800 HOURS 08-157733
31 year old black female robbed @ gunpoint of $800 by 2 20-30 year old black males who watched her make an ATM withdrawal.
2951 DUPONT FRIDAY 1848 HOURS 08-159614
37 year old black male w/25 CAPRS struck and had his ID & $300 taken when he refused to loan the suspect money. Arrested was Nawan Robinson a 26 year old black male w/2 CAPRS

10th & LOWRY TUESDAY 1900 HOURS 08-154759
PERGUN call w/suspect waving the gun and upon arrival secure the male and recover a loaded pistol in his vehicle and 17 loose prescription drugs in his pocket. Arrested was Rashid Massie a 30 year old black male w/10 CAPRS
908 BROADWAY TUESDAY 1614 HOURS 08-154581
911 call reporting Taliban gang members and a gun in a car @ 23/Lyndale and a search of it recovered a revolver and a semi auto. Arrested were three back males and two black females, 16, 16, 18, 16, 16 years old w/9, 20, 26, 9, 2 CAPRS
2630 COLFAX TUESDAY 2137 HOURS 08-154926
Officers dispatched to a FIGHT and upon arrival determine a male pointed a gun at a 44 year old black male during a verbal argument and recovered a loaded revolver. Arrested were James & James Dempsey, 46 & 19 year old black males w/31 & 17 CAPRS
1507 OLIVER WEDNESDAY 0000 HOURS 08-155112
Officers flagged down by a male who observed a male with a gun drop a bullet, a 44 caliber he gave to the officers. Officers spoke with a male on the porch and checked the house and located a pistol and weed. The male on the porch wasn’t the one reporting party observed and all persons in the house denied knowledge of the gun or weed.
2600 PENN THURSDAY 1921 HOURS 08-157239
Traffic stop for numerous offenses led to the recovery of a loaded 40 caliber. Arrested were Eric Adams & Twila Turnage, 18 year old black male and female w/11 & 0 CAPRS, for Weapons and No Insurance
323 30TH AVENUE FRIDAY 1850 HOURS 08-158261
TRESPASS of a board building with officers recovering a 45 caliber Kimber pistol, loaded w/the hammer cocked and Ecstasy. Numerous parties fled upon officer’s arrival. Gun was stolen from a Cass County firearms dealer.
BROADWAY & BRYANT SUNDAY 1234 HOURS 08-160517
Officers stopped a car reported to have a gun in it and recovered a 9MM Jennings. Arrested were Terrance Ervin & Vincent McGuire, two 25 year old black males w/39 & 60 CAPRS and three others ID’d.
2012 UPTON SUNDAY 2211 HOURS 08-161085
Traffic stop led to a short pursuit. Arrested was Luca Struve a 30 year old white male w/0 CAPRS
PATROL HIGHLIGHTS SUBMITTED
Tuesday - Precinct officers participated in a Minnesota Gang Strike Task Force detail: 1800 - 2200 hours.
43rd & Morgan – Wednesday – 0355 hours – 08-155255. Officers heard squealing tires and observe a car come to an abrupt stop and as they attempted to stop it the driver fled eventually crashing into a house and parked car at 43/Vincent. Arrested was Anthony Lee a 20 year old black male w/24 CAPRS who doesn’t have a license, had a BAC of .086 and the vehicle he was driving is wanted in an earlier Hit & Run.
30th & Penn – Thursday – 2337 hours - 08-157474. Officers attempt to stop a car traveling at approximately 80 MPH with the hatch open. The pursuit continued until the driver rear ended a car in Maple Grove and was caught after a short foot chase. Both cars heavily damaged and the suspect was seen for minor injuries. Arrested was Thurman Blevins a 21 year old black male w/45 CAPRS
Note: there were three major events/crimes that occurred prior to the pursuit - Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Robbery/Shooting and Aggravated Assault/Shooting, which were in the same geographic area of the pursuit. It was felt the vehicle may have been involved so it was prudent to continue pursue.
3226 Aldrich – Friday – 2235 hours – 08-158565. Officers followed a male on a bike w/out any lights as he looked into vehicles. Officers stopped him & found burglary tools on his person. Arrested was Shelby Stately a 27 year old black male w/27 CAPRS
Saturday - Due to heavy staffing officers conducted a prostitution detail on Penn three arresting prostitutes.
2630 Colfax - Sunday – 1000 hours – 08-160433. Resident outside doing yard work when suspect entered her house and took a pop to quench his thirst, along with money a cell phone and other items. Victim spotted him and called 911. While initial officer took the report another located suspect. In addition to being ID’d by the victim, suspect was carrying a victims cell phone which rang when the officer called it and other owner’s items. Arrested was David Zamora a 32 year old mixed race male w/3 CAPRS
2012 Upton – Sunday - 2211 hours - 08-161085. Officers in the area on a SHOTS call observed a car fleeing and attempted to stop it. After a short pursuit driver was arrested and recovered in his car was a lead pipe w/screws sticking out of it within drivers reach. Arrested was Luca Struve a 30 year old white male w/0 CAPRS
JACT - Personnel from Mpls Juvenile Division, 4th Precinct Officers, Minneapolis Park Police, Hennepin County Sheriff Deputies, Hennepin County Juvenile Probation & Deputy US Marshals made the following contacts and or arrests in the Fourth Precinct. All warrants confirmed prior to beginning field operations and at each location officers explained the purpose and objectives of JCAT.
Male. Active: Aggravated Robbery of Person. Priors: Robbery of Business, Narcotics x2 & Shoplift. Subject mistakenly released from Hennepin County Jail on a Firearms charge. Officers located him locked in a 2nd floor bedroom.
Male @ 52XX Emerson. Active: Burglary. Priors: Burglary x2, Disorderly Conduct x16, Runaway, Assault 5 x14, Damage to Property x3 & Theft x3. Subject was located in the basement sleeping and his sister was arrested on a juvenile warrant. Both siblings are involved in gangs. Other family members cared for the female’s infant child.
Female @ 41XX Aldrich. Active: Theft. Priors: Shoplift and Runaway. Officers located her inside.
Male @ 38XX Penn, 71XX 65th North & 7XX Penn. Active: Felony Assault x5. Priors: Domestic Assault, Curfew x3 & Shoplift. Warrants with the warning “Approach with Caution” as subject is extraordinarily violent. Officers saw persons inside who delayed opening the door. Officers located subject who gave them a false name. Later a family member called saying when officers were knocking subject was on the other side with a loaded gun intending to shoot but a party inside prevented him from doing so. Officers returned to 7XX Penn and his girlfriends @ 9XX Aldrich N attempting to recover the gun but were unsuccessful.
Female @ 29XX Bryant. Active: GM Theft. Priors: Assault 5 x2, Disorderly Conduct x2, Curfew & Transit Crime. Subject arrested.
Female @ 13XX Irving. Active: Escape. Priors: Runaway x2, Trespass, Curfew, Assault 5, Disorderly Conduct & Obstruct Legal Process. Subject, a member of the Young & Taliban gang and a suspect in a recent stabbing was located inside. Officers have actively sought her on multiple occasions over the past several months. Her mom will care for her 1 year old child.
Female @ 19XX Queen. Active: Curfew and Truancy. Priors: Runaway, Curfew & Shoplift. She was located at home during school hours and arrested. It is reported by her guardian that she refuses to attend school.
Female @ 12XX Humboldt. Active: Theft. Priors: Assault. Officers found the dwelling vacant. Subject not located.
Male @ 10XX Vincent. Active: Motor Vehicle Theft, Receiving and Concealing, False Information to Police & No Drivers License. Priors: Curfew x8, Consumption of Alcohol, Domestic Assault, Auto Theft x2, Burglary, False Information to Police, Motor Vehicle Tampering, Theft from Motor Vehicle, Transit Crime x2 & Aggravated Robbery. Neighbors report subject comes and goes mysteriously during various times of the day however officers were unable to locate him on the two different days they stopped.
Male @ 38XX Broadway #XX & 24XX Central #X. Active: lots in multiple jurisdictions. Priors: False Information to Police, Curfew x7, Shoplift, Disorderly Conduct, Damage to Property, Runaway & Lurking. Subject wasn’t located.
Brothers @ 19XX Russell, 17XX Russell & 24XX Thomas. Active: Disorderly Conduct & Robbery Priors: Narcotics Loitering x5, Trespass, Litter, Narcotics, Domestic Assault, Flee Police on Foot, Aggravated Robbery, Impede Traffic, False Information to Police, Riot, Curfew, Disorderly Conduct, Assault 3, Motor Vehicle Tampering, Robbery of Person, Weapons, Riot, Assault 5 x4, Curfew x2, Theft, Damage to Motor Vehicle, Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct & Assault 3. Family states both chronically on run.
Male @ 4XX Queen. Active: Theft. Priors: Shoplift, Assault 5 & Disorderly Conduct x2. Subject who answered the door and a sibling with a Theft & Trespass warrant were arrested.
Male @ 28XX Girard & 32XX Logan. Active: Weapons – Federal Wt. Priors: Cocaine use & possession. Subject not located.
Female @ 4XX Queen. Active: Theft. Priors: Tobacco. Officers learned subject and her mom moved but family still lives here.
Male @ 47XX Bryant. Active: Terroristic Threats. Priors: Terroristic Threats, Damage to Property & Curfew x2. Subject wasn’t there and his family reports they don’t know his whereabouts.
Male @ 46XX Lyndale. Active: Receiving and Concealing. Priors: Assault x3, Curfew & Disorderly Conduct. Subject and a Pit Bull located in the basement and he threatened to assault officers and threatened to shoot and kill them in the future. Multiple family members present continually shouted, swore at and acted in a threatening manor the entire time.
Male @ 22XX Penn. Active: Burglary. Priors: Trespass, Assault, Runaway x2, Shoplift, Disorderly Conduct x3, Damage to Property x2 and Criminal Sexual Conduct. Offices found this to be a non-existent address.
Male @ 44XX Humboldt. Active: Damage to Property. Priors: Murder, Curfew x3 & Transit Crime. Officers found he recently moved. Suburban school liaison officers led officers to 55XX Quail where he was arrested in bed at nearly noon on a school day.
