4TH PRECINCT HIGHLIGHTS - WEEK 628 – Feb. 02 to Feb. 08, 2010

ASSAULTS:

V2/BF-44 yrs. stated her niece/AP1-BF Starr, Tanya - 37 yrs. kicked in her door/assaulted her husband V1/BM – 48 yrs. and her. V1 has a cut on back of his head and was taken to the Hospital. V2 stated that AP1 lives in the upstairs apt. where Officers found her.

AP1/BM–17 yrs. arrested for attempting to pull away from Officer and kicking at the squad window inside, causing the door to bow out all three times. V1 said AP did not strike her but they had a verbal fight; however, there were numerous 911 calls stating he had hit her. AP1 was also a truant. He continued to swear at Officers all the way to Juvenile. Officer took cuffs off to put him in a holding cell and he elbowed her. AP1 taken to ground but grip was lost and he came back toward another Officer. Threats were made also toward an Officer.

AP1/BM-Haymon, Jonathan–28 yrs. (boyfriend of V1) pointed a gun at head of V1/BF–35 yrs. and threatened to shoot everyone inside if police were called. V2/BF-14 yrs. was able to call her dad to tell him what was happening along with V3/BF–10 yrs. & V4/BM–4 mos. who were all upstairs. AP1 had gone upstairs once to show V2 the gun and threatened to kill them all. SWAT operation took over. Time passed and V2 was able to retrieve V3 & V4 out of the dwelling after AP1 had gone to sleep. Officers moved in and suspect taken into custody.

V1/BF–18 yrs. disabled in the POHI program at North High had a bruise on left side of face that RP1 noticed. V1 is unable to talk or care for herself and requires one-on-one support from Special Ed staff around the clock. HC was notified of the injuries because of a possibility of abuse outside of school. V1 was taken to HCMC for a SARS exam. PG1 says she is the only one who takes care of V1 and that she got the bruise from a seizure suffered/hit her face on a wall. PG1 stated this is the 2nd time V1 has been suspected to be sexually assaulted w/out evidence.

V1/WF–44 yrs. had minor injuries to her mouth w/loose teeth, 2 black eyes and arm bruises after she was raped. V1 knows AP1 because he has worked on her vehicle before so she asked him to come over to help her w/veh. AP1 brought his nephew S1/Steven–BM 0 and a friend S2/Dollar, Bull-unk BM in a white van w/Correctional Facility Faribault written on side of it. They all had some beer and after 2 hrs., AP1 grabbed V1 by hair and threw V1 in van which had a blue bed inside. AP1 jumped on her and began the assault which lasted over an hour. S1 was driving the van and S2 was sitting in passenger seat and dropped off S2. Shortly after, AP1 told her to get out. She called 911 and was taken to HCMC for an exam. Officers found AP1 at his place/van.

V1/African BF–18 yrs. and V2/African BM-18 yrs. were assaulted in an alley while walking home, by S1/African unk BM 18-20 yrs./6'2"-6'5”, and S2/African BM 18-20 yrs. /5'5" – 5'7”, and S3 w/same description as S,2 who tried to rob them. V1 had a large laceration 2” long/1/8” deep in a curved pattern over her rt. eye. No weapon implied but she was hit w/S2’s cell phone while she was trying to break up the assault on V2. Both victims were not able to give further info. Suspects were looking for drugs/money and fled on foot. V1 was transported by ambulance to Hospital.

V1/WM–25 yrs. and V2/WF–22 yrs. (married) were walking when S4 approached them for a cigarette which they gave her. Then others came up behind pointing a silver handgun to V2’s head. V1 tackled S1 and S2 punched V2 in stomach causing her to fall to ground and grabbed her purse/struck her in face w/pistol. When V1 got up, he was pistol whipped in his left eye by S1. S1 & S2/both unk BMs 17-25 yrs. wearing all black, S3/unk BF 35-45 yrs. and S4/unk BF 35-45 yrs. w/pony tail wearing dark colored sweatshirt w/lt. colored writing fled on foot toward the house they were originally seen at by victims. Ambulance called.

WEAPONS:
SHOTS FIRED
17th Ave N/Penn Ave N 01:15 hrs 10-034179
Officers were SB on Penn Ave N approaching 17th Ave N when they noticed a suspect fire two rounds in an easterly direction. Officers took the suspect down at gunpoint who then dropped the gun. When Officers approached the male on foot, they then heard approx. 10 shots fired from the east. Officers took cover and heard bullets flying over their heads. Officers noticed several males standing by a possible red Pontiac Grand Am at 17th Ave N/Oliver Ave N. Vehicle then sped off eastbound. Several males took off on foot SB on Oliver Ave. Officers gave chase/captured 3 juveniles and one adult male. Shooter on Oliver Ave N was able to get away in the vehicle. Suspect on Penn Ave N took off running when officers gave chase after red vehicle and was not located. Firearm was recovered. Spent shell casings recovered at scene. No Officers were injured.
